Hudson Martin Ferrante Street Witten & DeMaria continues the tradition established when attorney Jeannette Witten founded Hudson Martin Witten PC in March 2007.

Six years later, her firm, Witten PC, acquired Hudson Martin Ferrante & Street, the oldest known law firm on the Central Coast, in October of 2013, to become Hudson Martin Ferrante Street Witten PC.

Hudson Martin had provided Monterey County families and business owners high-quality legal representation since 1908, and has represented many of Monterey County’s most notable figures, including renowned writers John Steinbeck and Henry Miller.

Hudson Martin has been a part of nearly every major commercial project and development project in Monterey County over the past 100 years. In fact, the partners at Hudson Martin through the years have played a major role in shaping our present-day community. Two Monterey County judges, three City of Monterey mayors and three winners of the Justice Gibson award for community service have come from Hudson Martin. The relationships with clients runs deep through generations of families and family-owned businesses.

Previous to the acquisition, Witten practiced business law with Parravano Witten PC with attorney Ron Parravano.

Then, in April 2014, in one of the most talked-about mergers on the Central Coast in decades, Hudson Martin acquired the esteemed Monterey-based law firm Mallery & DeMaria PC.

Mallery & DeMaria served businesses and individuals in Monterey, Salinas and Santa Cruz for more than 30 years, preparing and implementing real estate and business transactions and also assisting in trademark and copyright registration and estate planning. Along with an in-depth knowledge of the legal aspects of real estate transfers, Mallery and DeMaria are also licensed real estate brokers with agent experience.

Mallery holds a bachelor's degree in accounting (1976) and is a 1979 graduate of McGeorge School of Law. His many years of experience includes representation of clients in business and real estate matters; merger and acquisitions; business succession planning; the formation and dissolution of limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships, and joint ventures; real estate sales, exchanges, and development; contracts; and leases.

Mallery has lectured at seminars and taught classes on business law issues for various groups, including the California State Bar Taxation Section, Monterey College of Law, Service Corps of Retired Executives, the Monterey Peninsula Estate Planning Study Group, the Continuing Professional Education Forum of the Central Coast, the Financial Planning Association, the Employment Development Department, the Monterey Chamber of Commerce, the New Monterey Business Association and the UCSC Paralegal Program.

DeMaria holds a bachelor's degree in Law & Society and Philosophy from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2000. She graduated from Monterey College of Law in 2004 and worked as a Real Estate Broker in Carmel during and after law school.

And in January 2015, Andrea Upton and Amanda Busse joined the firm, Upton as partner and Busse as an estate planning and business transactions attorney. Upton's practice areas include business litigation, probate/trust administration, intellectual property, real estate, and business/corporate law.

Hudson Martin Ferrante Street Witten & DeMaria's experience counseling on a wide range of legal issues across a variety of industries has given the firm an exceptional understanding of their clients’ businesses — making them a true business partner. The firm provides the most responsive, efficient and effective legal strategies and solutions available.
